The monthly “Bass Hang” is a time set aside for Austin double bassists to gather and interact. The intent is to foster the natural growth of the individuals making up the community as well as the community itself. The hope is to develop an environment that provides a good example of community awareness, community interaction, and community spirit by gathering with open hearts and minds while offering and accepting direction, experience, guidance, and time. All local (and visiting) double bassists are welcomed and encouraged to actively participate; the only requirements: bring an instrument, an eagerness to learn from others and by helping others learn, and to check ego at the door.
